Overview

Capabilities

FRDGE is both a cooling system and a thermal battery. It uses lower ambient temperatures to cool a facility while storing cooling for later use, helping reduce the amount of mechanical cooling required. Low-ambient operation, in climates with sufficiently low outdoor night time temperatures, FRDGE can use ambient conditions for heat rejection while charging its thermal storage. In the right climate and system configuration, this can significantly reduce or eliminate the need for mechanical chillers.

High-ambient operation, in hotter climates, FRDGE can shift chiller operation to cooler nighttime hours, when chillers operate more efficiently. Stored cooling can then be dispatched during the hottest parts of the day, reducing peak cooling demand and overall energy use. System impact: Depending on climate, FRDGE can reduce cooling energy requirements by 30 to 80% and water consumption by up to 95%.

Engineering notes

Operating temperatures, flow requirements and control logic are engineered around each project's cooling load, climate and site conditions.

FRDGE can integrate with existing or new cooling infrastructure, including liquid cooling loops, direct-to-chip systems and immersion cooling where required.

Redundancy, controls and operating strategy are configured around project-specific reliability and performance requirements.

Deployment options include modular packaged systems and field-integrated installations, allowing FRDGE to scale with the cooling requirements of the site.
